About the Badge

The Y-Seams, Y-Not Badge helps members tackle one of those quilting techniques that sounds scarier than it usually is. This badge is about learning how Y-seams work, practicing the steps, and building confidence with inset seams, angled joins, and blocks that need a little extra patience at the intersections.

Badge Requirements

• Learn what Y-seams are and where they commonly appear in quilt designs.
• Choose a practice block, test unit, or project that includes at least one Y-seam.
• Mark seam start and stop points as needed for accurate piecing.
• Practice sewing Y-seams on scraps, test blocks, or your chosen project.
• Complete at least one block or project section that includes Y-seams.
• Make a short note about which tip or technique helped the most.

Embroidered Patch

The embroidered Quiltbound badge is made with high-quality embroidery on a twill backing and measures 2" x 2".

The vinyl sticker version measures 2" x 2" and is a fun, easy way to celebrate your badge without picking up a needle.
