How this all started
I didn’t grow up in a quilting circle. I learned from YouTube, Google, and a whole lot of trial and error.
And while I loved quilting, something still felt like it was missing.
There wasn’t much sense of direction. No real feeling of community. No built-in reason to try something new unless I pushed myself to do it myself. It was just me, figuring things out as I went and hoping I was doing it “right.”
But quilting didn’t feel like it was supposed to be that way.
It felt like it should be shared. A little messy. A little adventurous. Something you grow into over time, not something you have to master all at once.
So I started imagining what quilting could look like if it felt more encouraging, more creative, and more connected.
Eventually, I stopped imagining and built it.
What Quiltbound really is
Quiltbound is more than one thing. It’s a creative home base for quilters who want to make meaningful projects, try new ideas, and enjoy the process along the way.
It’s the bigger world that holds all of it:
- quilt patterns and small projects
- blog posts, podcast episodes, and helpful resources
- Quiltbound Club, the paid membership
- Chapters, where quilters can gather locally
- and a welcoming online community, affectionately known around here as the clubhouse
Quiltbound isn’t about doing more just for the sake of doing more. It’s about experiencing quilting differently.
It’s a place where:
- you try things without overthinking them
- you follow your curiosity instead of waiting until you feel ready
- you make projects that actually mean something to you
- and you remember that creativity is allowed to be fun
There’s no perfect way to do this.
There’s just your way.
The heart of Quiltbound
At the core of everything here is one simple idea:
Quilting should feel like something you get to do, not something you have to get right.
It’s about slowing down. Paying attention. Letting your creativity unfold without rushing it.
Some projects will work. Some won’t.
Some will become favorites. Some will teach you what not to do next time.
All of it counts.
What we believe
We believe quilts are meant to be used and loved, not folded up and saved for later.
We believe trying something new is always worth it, even if it doesn’t turn out the way you expected.
We believe progress matters more than perfection.
We believe the best projects are the ones that come with a story attached.
And we believe quilting feels better when it’s shared.

Hi, I’m Megan
Hi, I’m Megan
I’m a quilter, idea collector, and the kind of person who brings a quilt everywhere… just in case.
I live in Colorado with my family, and I’m constantly inspired by mountains, road trips, cozy projects, and any excuse to take my quilting outside.
I didn’t start as an expert. I started as someone curious, slightly overwhelmed, and determined to figure things out.
Quiltbound is the space I wish I had back then.
A place where quilting feels less lonely. Less rigid. Less like a test you’re trying to pass.
And more like a creative practice you get to grow into, one project at a time.
Honestly, it’s still the space I need now too.
Start where you are
You don’t need to have a perfect plan. You don’t need to be advanced. You just need a place to begin. You can shop a pattern, read a blog post, listen to the podcast, join Quiltbound Club, or find a Chapter near you. However you arrive, you’re welcome here.
