About the Badge

The Rotary Blade Survivor Badge is a slightly cheeky but genuinely useful badge about rotary cutter safety. This badge invites members to practice safer cutting habits, care for their tools, replace dull blades, and prepare for the tiny sewing-room mishaps that somehow always happen when you are “just trimming one quick thing.”

Badge Requirements

• Review safe rotary cutting habits, including hand placement, ruler control, blade direction, and closing the blade between cuts.
• Use a cutting mat that fits your project and protects your blade and workspace.
• Replace a dull or damaged rotary blade safely.
• Clean or check your rotary cutter so it moves smoothly and works properly.
• Prepare a small sewing-related first aid kit with basic supplies for minor cuts or accidents.
