About the Badge

The Quilt Photography Badge helps members take clearer, more thoughtful photos of their quilts, whether they are documenting a finish, sharing progress, listing a pattern, or simply trying to prove that the colors really are better in person. This badge is about practicing light, composition, styling, and editing so your quilt photos feel more intentional without needing a full photography studio or a suspiciously well-behaved breeze.

Badge Requirements

• Learn a few basic photography principles, such as lighting, composition, focus, background choice, and color accuracy.
• Photograph at least one quilt, block, or quilted project in more than one setup or location.
• Experiment with angles, distance, cropping, or styling to highlight the quilt’s design and texture.
• Edit your photos as needed for clarity while keeping the quilt colors and details accurate.
• Choose your favorite photo and make a note about why it works well.

Embroidered Patch

The embroidered Quiltbound badge is made with high-quality embroidery on a twill backing and measures 2" x 2".

This patch is designed to be sewn on, so you can attach it to a quilted tote, project pouch, denim jacket, badge banner, or wherever you’re keeping track of your quilting adventures.

Please note: this is not an iron-on patch.

Vinyl Sticker

The vinyl sticker version measures 2" x 2" and is a fun, easy way to celebrate your badge without picking up a needle.
