About the Badge

The Machine Maintenance Badge is all about getting to know the machine that does so much of the heavy lifting in your quilting life. This badge invites members to clean, care for, and better understand their sewing machine so it runs more smoothly and causes fewer “why are you making that sound?” moments.

Badge Requirements

• Learn the basic maintenance needs for your specific sewing machine model.
• Clean lint and loose threads from the bobbin area, feed dogs, and other accessible spaces according to your machine manual.
• Replace your sewing machine needle.
• Check whether your machine requires oiling, and oil it only if your manual recommends it.
• Create a simple maintenance checklist or schedule for your machine.
• Make a short note about what you cleaned, adjusted, replaced, or learned.

Embroidered Patch
