About the Badge

The Longarm Quilter Badge introduces members to the process of finishing a quilt top with a longarm machine, whether you quilt it yourself or send it to a longarm quilter. This badge is about understanding the prep, decisions, communication, and finishing steps that help a quilt top become a fully finished quilt without turning the handoff into a mystery wrapped in batting.

Badge Requirements

• Learn how longarm quilting differs from domestic machine quilting.
• Prepare a quilt top for longarm quilting by pressing it, trimming loose threads, and checking seams.
• Choose backing, batting, thread, and quilting style or density that fit the project.
• Quilt the project on a longarm machine yourself or send it to a longarm quilter.
• Finish the quilt by trimming, binding, and labeling it as needed.
• Make a short note about what you learned from the longarm quilting process.

Embroidered Patch
