About the Badge

The Hand Quilt Badge celebrates the slower, stitch-by-stitch side of quilting. This badge is about experiencing the rhythm of hand quilting, whether you use traditional tiny stitches, big stitch quilting, a hoop, no hoop, a frame, or your own cozy couch setup. It invites members to connect with the layers of a quilt in a very hands-on way and appreciate the texture that hand stitching brings to a finished project.

Badge Requirements

• Learn about at least one hand quilting method, such as traditional hand quilting, big stitch quilting, or utility quilting.
• Gather the tools and supplies you need, such as thread, needles, a marking tool, thimble, hoop, or frame.
• Mark or plan a quilting design for your project.
• Practice hand quilting stitches on a small quilt sandwich or project area.
• Complete a hand-quilted sample, block, mini quilt, pillow, table runner, or other quilted project.
• Make a short note about what felt comfortable, challenging, or satisfying during the process.

Embroidered Patch

The embroidered Quiltbound badge is made with high-quality embroidery on a twill backing and measures 2" x 2".
