About the Badge
The Block Exchange Badge celebrates the fun of making something for another quilter and receiving something handmade in return. This badge is about community, trust, creativity, and the tiny thrill of opening fabric mail. A block exchange can happen through a Quiltbound Chapter, an online swap, a guild, or a small group of quilting friends.
Badge Requirements
- Join or organize a block exchange with at least one other quilter.
- Follow the group’s agreed-upon guidelines, such as block size, color palette, theme, timeline, or construction notes.
- Make the agreed number of blocks with care, pressing and trimming as needed.
- Add your own creative touch while still honoring the swap guidelines.
- Send, deliver, or exchange your blocks by the agreed deadline.
- Use or document the blocks you receive in a way that celebrates the exchange.
Badge Options
Choose the version that fits your badge-collecting style.
Embroidered Patch
The embroidered Quiltbound badge is made with high-quality embroidery on a twill backing and measures 2" x 2".
This patch is designed to be sewn on, so you can attach it to a quilted tote, project pouch, denim jacket, badge banner, or wherever you’re keeping track of your quilting adventures.
Please note: this is not an iron-on patch.
Vinyl Sticker
The vinyl sticker version measures 2" x 2" and is a fun, easy way to celebrate your badge without picking up a needle.
Add it to a water bottle, laptop, sewing machine case, notebook, project bin, or anywhere you want a little Quiltbound trail marker.
Patch + Sticker Bundle
Can’t pick between the patch and sticker? Honestly, same.
The bundle includes both the embroidered patch and the vinyl sticker, so you can sew one onto your favorite project bag and stick the other wherever it brings you joy. Tiny badge dopamine, basically.

A Little Badge Note
These badges are meant to be earned, collected, and celebrated. Whether you’re learning a new technique, finishing a long-lost project, or trying something that feels just a tiny bit outside your comfort zone, your badge is a small but mighty reminder that you took the scenic route and did the thing.
