The Quiltbound Podcast Trailer: Welcome to the Quilt Scouts Archive

The Quiltbound Podcast Trailer: Welcome to the Quilt Scouts Archive

Megan Fowler

Originally recorded as The Quilt Scouts Podcast

If you’ve ever felt creatively stuck, overwhelmed by half-finished projects, or just a little lonely at your sewing machine, you’re in the right place.

This short trailer episode was originally recorded to introduce The Quilt Scouts Podcast, which has since grown into The Quiltbound Podcast. You’ll still hear the Quilt Scouts name in this episode because this recording comes from the early days of the show, but the heart of it is still exactly where we are now: creative quilting, community, curiosity, and taking the scenic route.

Hosted by Megan, founder of Quiltbound, this podcast is for quilters who want their creative practice to feel more fun, connected, and a little less like a perfectionist obstacle course. We’re here for the color experiments, the project piles, the “what if I tried this?” energy, and the occasional fabric purchase that was absolutely emotional support. No judgment from me.

Episode Overview

In this trailer episode, I’m sharing the heart behind the podcast: why it exists, who it’s for, and what listeners can expect from the show.

This podcast was created for quilters who love learning, experimenting, and exploring new creative paths without pressure, perfectionism, or gatekeeping. Whether you’re brand new to quilting or you’ve been stitching for years, this show is here to help quilting feel more joyful, sustainable, and connected.

Basically, it’s a place to pull up a chair, bring your current project, and hang out with quilters who get it.

What You’ll Hear on the Podcast

On the show, you’ll find:

  • Cozy solo episodes about quilting, creativity, and mindset
  • Conversations with quilters, designers, artists, and shop owners
  • Encouragement to try new techniques, colors, and ideas
  • Honest stories about creative wins, mishaps, and lessons learned
  • Creative side quests that stretch your comfort zone just enough

Think summer camp energy, but make it quilting.

A little nostalgic, a little goofy, and very welcoming.

Megan:
Hey friend, welcome to the Quilt Scouts podcast. I'm Megan, your quilt scout leader, hype person, and fellow adventurous quilter.

Every week, we’ll cozy up around this little virtual campfire and get into the good stuff: the creativity, the chaos, the color palettes that may or may not work out, and the kind of quilting adventures that nudge you just slightly outside your comfort zone. Not like Mount Everest… more like, what if you tried sewing curves on purpose? Or what happens if you use the fabric you’re irrationally scared of?

We’ll talk with quilters, designers, and shop owners who’ve blazed their own weird, wonderful creative trails and who are willing to spill the stories, the mishaps and the wins, that shaped them. You’ll also hear their scout wisdom: a little mantra or lesson they carry with them so they don’t set their seam rippers on fire.

And in solo episodes, I’ll take you behind the scenes of Quilt Scouts and share the experiments I’m trying, the projects that pushed me in surprising ways, and the tiny mindset shifts that keep me moving forward instead of hiding from my WIPs like they’re rabid raccoons.

The vibe? A little nostalgic, a little goofy, a little heartfelt. Like chatting with a really good friend who will hype you up and lovingly dare you to try something new.

If you’re ready to shake up your quilting routine, rediscover your creativity, or just hang out with someone who also buys fabric as a coping mechanism, hit follow.

The Quilt Scouts Podcast launches January 1st.

See you soon, Scout!
